I‘ve always been quite inspired by gates. They aren’t just a way to keep unwanted visitors out or beloved pets in, the right gate can feel like a special invitation to enter a secret magical garden. You know what I mean? As far as I’m concerned, a gate doesn’t even have to be fancy (but […]

It was just a question of timing: H&M Home is expanding its range of home accessories with furniture and lighting. The new collection will be launched end of July in selected markets and will be available online. Small furniture pieces like sidetables, racks, stools, mirrors as well as lamps and pendant lights will be part of the new H&M Home collection. The design is timeless with a strong nod to classic Scandinavian design.
The materials of H&M Home’s new furniture and lighting collection are reduced and pretty classic: metal, brass, wood and straw. Additionally, the colour palette is rather neutral dominated by black, natural beige and metallic shades with subtle dashes of hues of emerald, dusky pink and grey. And yes, as you might imagine the prices will be rather reasonable as usual with H&M Home – they will be in the range of 20 to 250 Euros approximately.
I am curious and looking forward to the new collection. And I am pretty sure that this is just the starting point and that the collection will grow over time. Let’s see! Happy new week!

One of the big advantages of my new and bigger home is that I can finally host friends. I mean proper hosting with a brunch or dinner. You know, when everyone gets a decent chair and sufficient tableware. That was not really the case in my tiny old apartment. But now, I am ready to be a damn good host. Wanna come over? If so, let me show you some uh-mazing new tableware: the MESH Colour collection by one of Germany’s most traditional porcelain brands, Rosenthal. Take a seat, lean back and enjoy!
Rosenthal’s MESH collection is perfect for people like me who love a mix & match approach. Especially now since they launched a new colour – Forest. The deep green is a perfect addition to my entire dining area styling. It is all moody, natural, with darker accents. The bright pop of the colours Aqua and White add structure to the table. That is what I really like about the MESH collection – the possibility to mix different colours and patterns. It gives you creative freedom, yet it looks matching and stylish. Moreover, I really like the subtle details on the tableware. Have a closer look, you might see them!
I also love the variety in shapes – from round to square, oblong bowls, rectangular platters and tiny round pinch bowls – you can really get playful with your tablesetting. In my case I chose to let the tableware take center stage – not to mention the fact that I had no space for further decoration. But I am pretty convinced that the simple beauty of these dishes is decoration enough. Paired with simple glasses, classic, mat cutlery and linen napkins it nourishes the design loving eye. The belly will be nourished afterwards.
So, what do you think? Would you come over and enjoy dinner with me on such a table? I bet you would! Especially with this damn nice tableware. But be aware: I have counted all plates, bowls, glasses and cutlery! Ha! Happy dining!
This blog post has been brought to you in collaboration with Rosenthal. As always all opinions and photos are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands who support this blog!
