Here’s to a relaxed, cool, and happy weekend! I don’t know what you are up to, but I intend to fully indulge in my free Saturday. Especially since I am off to work on Sunday already. 2 Emily Henderson is an indisputable multi-talent when it comes to interior styling. I loved this festive home tour on her blog (even though Christmas is over) – and this bar cart corner is just perfect for a little weekend cocktail, right?
3 Now here is a combination that makes me particularly happy – on weekdays and weekends! A Tulip table by Eero Saarinen, a kilim rug, and plants. Seriously, what’s not to love about this dining room? Seen on Est Living.
4 Weekend are perfect to get all your props out and get creative! Throw everything into the game and create a new decor vignette. How about this fantastic still-life inspired by ancient Rome? I am head over heels. Obviously. Seen on Homes & Antiques.
5 If I had magic powers, I’d beam myself to Australia this weekend. Why? Not to enjoy the beach, but to visit the cool Pop & Scott shop and secure myself one of their Dreamweaver Lights. Dreamy indeed!
6 Here comes a secret revelation: One of the ways how I like to unwind and relax is by playing my tambourine every now and then for a few minutes. It is therapeutic for me. Honestly. I do pity my neighbors though, but so far nobody complained. I bet nobody complains when Tessa Barton plays her tambourine either. Especially not on weekends!

There are many reasons why I want to move to a bigger place eventually. First, more space for myself. More space for my plants, a bigger kitchen to enjoy cooking, more storage space. But also finally some space for a String shelf system. I have wanted one of these for a long time now. But alas, the lack of space was a constant hindrance. But one day, I tell you, one day I will have a fabulous String shelf system in my home.
I don’t think I have to go into details about String, right? It is widely known and very popular throughout the world. Interior lovers admire the String shelf system for its versatility paired with the Scandi coolness and design aesthetic. Moreover, the String shelf is a real design icon. The Swede Nils Strinning designed the first shelf back in 1949. Ever since the String family has grown and so has its popularity pitchforking it into the realm of mid-century design classics.
Today the String shelf system comes in a wide array of shelf options, finishings, colours, materials. In fact, the String system has gone beyond shelves and features office furniture too. From the small sized Pocket system to entire shelf units with integrated desks and cabinets – String has become the epitome of sleek design for any style preference. String shelves perfectly work in both minimalist homes as well as eclectic interiors.
My personal favorites are all options with walnut wood and white panels. But today I am sharing the latest String products and stylings with you. With the help of designers Anna von Schewen and Björn Dahlström, String is launching new metal shelves, functional accessories, a bowl shelf in felt, and cabinets with sliding doors. Equally, String is launching three new colours for the Pocket shelf: Sand, Burgundy, and Mustard. I will have a look myself next week when I am at the imm furniture fair in Cologne before I head to the Maison & Objet in Paris. Stay tuned!
