Even after half a year in my new apartment, I am not through with my promised home tour here on the blog. Let’s say life was in my way, ha! No seriously, I am way behind but I am working on it. Last time I took you on a detailed tour through my bedroom (see it HERE), today I am inviting you into my bohemian living room. Are you ready? Let us have a look – and as always, I am very keen to get your feedback in the comments!
My living room captures my bohemian, modern nomad spirit more than any other room. The spacious room has a double function: It serves as a living room and a dining room. To structure the space I was working with rugs. In the lounge area I have layered three rugs on top of each other for a nomadic tent look. Two Moroccan cactus silk rugs and one vintage kilim from Turkey do the trick. The dining area is defined by a large flatweave kilim from Ikea.
The lounge area features a big leather sofa (read more about it HERE), an Indian mango wood coffee table and a comfy lounge chair. I found the two latter products on Home24 and they perfectly accentuate the bohemian look I was aiming at. I love the rich carvings on the coffee table’s sides and well as the wooden frame and green cushions of the lounge chair. It is actually my favorite spot to watch Netflix or read a book. The coffee table is an ever evolving playground with plants, handmade ceramics, favorite books and candles. I also have good news for you too: With the promo code ‘igorhome’ you can get 10% reduction on everything at Home24 during the month of June 2018 (minimum order value 150 Euros). Have a look, they really have great pieces for any style!
Adding lots of cushions and throws for extra comfort and a Moroccan leather pouf (found on Etsy) to rest your feet – what else can I ask for? These pictures were taken a little while ago so there is one new feature missing: Above the sofa I have a wonderful vintage linen cloth hand-dyed in ombré technique with natural indigo. Have a look HERE to see it.
The dining area is defined by the round vintage dining table from Ercol and four J39 chairs by Danish design label Fredericia. A double Billy bookshelf with glass doors stores my books and features some precious decor items and ceramics. Plants and art are placed against the dark grey wall painted in Farrow & Ball’s Down Pipe shade. Moreover, a beautiful mango wood sideboard with brass elements serves as extra storage for tableware, napkins and a few bottles of vino for impromptu dinners.
A connecting link is the Danish vintage teak bar cart. A few drinks and glasses to welcome your guests are enriched with plants and a vintage art gallery wall. I hope you enjoyed the little tour of my living room and feel free to comment or ask if you want to know more. In the meantime I will be working on the next room for the home tour here on the blog. Stay tuned!
