My ‘Eureka!’ moment today: My dream home is obviously based in Spain. To be precise: It is the soulful home of Spanish designer Paloma Wool. This wonderful and personal home is like a materialization of the owner’s personality. Every detail speaks of the designer’s character and her aptitude to combine colours, layers, textures. The framework itself couldn’t be more beautiful: a historical apartment in Barcelona, Spain.
Such homes I like to call soulful spaces. These homes exude a unique aura. They tell the story of the owner and sometimes you even feel like you can visualize the owner’s soul a little bit. Paloma Wool has not only influenced her space but she also draws inspiration from her ever changing home. This nourishing connection is almost tangible.
A warm and moody colour palette acts like a red thread throughout the apartment. It perfectly resonates with the given structures as well as the vibrant mosaic tiled flooring which is typical for historical apartments in Barcelona (suelo hidraulico). A sophisticated mix of vintage and contemporary furniture adds to the magical concoction as well as the use of various textures. Additionally, a fine selection of art pieces, ceramics, and lush plants complete the personal look.
If I closed my eyes and imagined my dream home, this could definitely be a result. Yet every home is different of course – just as our personalities differ. But sometimes you can tell from someone’s home that you might have found a sort of soulmate. At least when it comes to interior design and home decor. So yes I admit it: Hola Paloma, you are my interior design soulmate! To see the full home story hop over to AD Espana.
