Well hello again! The Urban Jungle Bloggers styling topics are back! As announced we have switched to seasonal topics and today we are celebrating spring with ‘New Beginnings’. I have decided to gather my plants, new and old, in one spot and insert some flowers to welcome spring in my home.
Usually my plants are scattered around my home and I like the green bits and pieces everywhere. But when I group them together it is really a fantastic impact. Even though it is not a huge plant gang, but grouped on my vintage bureau it is a nice sight, isn’t it? Moreover, it is not only the variety and amount of plants. It is also the mix of plant pots, sizes, foliages that creates so much vibrancy and interest.
But let’s speak about some new beginnings among my plants. Most evidently I am very happy about the new leaves growing on my Begonia maculata. The plant suffered quite a lot as it was a prop for a bigger styling project and traveled from one place to another in a plastic bag. When it arrived in my home it was literally devastated. Every leaf was broken or injured, and I doubted if it will make it at all. But look now! Truly new beginnings!
I am also very happy with the growth of my cacti, the jewel orchid, the string of hearts and more. Even one of my Tillandsia airplants is flowering! On the other hand I was totally sad to realize that my pink Calathea was infested with what I think are mealybugs. Oy! I’ll try my best to cure it but I am totally afraid that it will infect other plants. So for now she must live in quarantine. But apart from that: I am very happy with my plants! And how sweet is the postcard I received from my Urban Jungle Bloggers buddy Judith? I am in love with it!
