Can you actually be love struck by a design label? Stupid question, right? Of course you can! Well at least I can. And recently I was love struck by a Belgian fashion label based in Marrakech: LRNCE. This cryptic name stands for the founders name, Laurence Leenaert, who founded the label back in 2013. Now I am not a fashion blogger but LRNCE has a fantastic range of home textiles and ceramics too. And those are a real ‘coup de coeur’ for me – love struck in the best sense of the meaning!
LRNCE is strongly inspired and influenced by the cults and rituals of tribes. On their website they state that LRNCE aims to show a sense of cultural influences of traditional handcraft and contemporary aesthetics. Hence, this vibrant mix fuels a bounty of creativity – on rugs, blankets, bags, sandals, and more. Lately LRNCE has delved into hand-painted ceramics too and I can tell you: I would take each piece in my obsessive collector manner! Luckily these pieces are only available in the Marrakech showroom whereas the other products can be bought online (click, click). This makes me think of one thing: I need to plan a trip to Marrakech soon!
What is amazing about LRNCE is the devotion and passion. The designs are mind-blowingly beautiful and every piece is handmade. Embroideries in Majorelle blue, Marrakech rose, warm yellows and other hues tempt your eye as well as your other senses. The products are handmade by local artisans in small ateliers and made by order. Yet the prices are very reasonable!
