Two weeks ago we revealed the two covers of our upcoming Urban Jungle Book on Urban Jungle Bloggers. Today Judith and I want to show you a few behind-the-scenes peeks. These were taken during our five home tours together with our photographer Lina Skukauske. We had so much fun traveling to the English coast, to Toulouse, close to Amsterdam, to Istanbul and close to Heidelberg. There we visited five beautiful and green homes of local creatives. Each home was different in style but all of them had one thing in common – lots of plants!
Working on a book is first of all lots of hard work – but it also is so much fun! Especially if you get to work with a cool team and visit fab creative people where you arrive as a guest and leave as a friend. We were literally occupying the places of our hosts. In return we got home-made cinnamon rolls, gallons of coffee, and delicious breakfasts. We on the other hand only claimed lots of patience, availability for the shooting, the freedom to run around, move, change and rearrange things. Sounds like we were good guests, right? Ha!
Still I think everyone involved had a fab time during our photo shootings. Lina did an amazing job – she had to climb on furniture pieces, sit in bushes, verify the angles with a mirror – the regular stuff! Our home owners had to model – all of them including kids and pets! And they only had to repeat some poses like 20 times – and they kept smiling. Well this I call dedication!
Now that the #urbanjunglebook is all finished, looking back is really wonderful. All that hard work during so many months seems now far away and it makes me giggle when I think of certain situations. But above all it fills me with happiness to be part of this amazing project. And honestly, I can’t wait to hear your feedback once the book is available from September 9th 2016.
