First things first: Get your smartphones people and mark April 7th in your calendar. IKEA is launching its new Stockholm 2017 collection that very day and we are all in for a treat. One look at their new products and you’ll know why I am drooling over the new Stockholm 2017 collection by IKEA. Whenever they launch the new Stockholm collection you get the urge to redecorate your entire home. I mean hello blue velvet sofa. Hello new cabinet. Hello new bench. Does anyone have a big apartment for me pretty please?
My absolute favorite is the cabinet made of rattan as well as the matching bench. Closely followed by the super soft looking blue velvet sofa. I really think I need to make space for at least the cabinet and the small bench. Let’s be frank, I won’t fit in the sofa unfortunately. But how cool are the rattan pieces? Also the home textiles look divine. I love the natural materials and tactile surfaces. Definitely something to look forward to!
IKEA is also launching new rugs, cushions, tableware, and blue glassware. I am particularly smitten by the new cushions by designer Hanna Dalrot. I met Hanna and her work for the first time a few years ago at the Stockholm Furniture Fair and fell in love with her watercolour designs. What a lovely example to see how a young designer gets to work with a really big and global player. Thumbs up!
The new Stockholm 2017 collection by IKEA seems to be all about a tactile experience at home. It makes you want to touch and feel every piece consciously. Thus, I can’t wait to put my fingers on the new pieces and I am pretty sure a few of those pieces will find their way into my home. Now I have to see how and what I need to change.
